So helpful! I think subplots are huge for the middle! Would love a deeper dive into those and how they intertwine with the main plot/main character arc, etc. 🙏 💙

Im currently writing my second book but want someone's advice on if the story is compelling and interesting however its the second in a series so the person would need to read the first one as well unless they're fine with spoilers but does anyone have any suggestions on where I can find a good place for my book to be reviewed

The middle is one of my favorite parts… it’s the beginning that I sometimes drag on. The setup is SO important that if it goes wrong everything else that happens might not have enough stick.

my story follows the protagonist's whole life so it's in forex we got childhood adolescence adulthood and then I'm rolling old age and death into one

I’ve written an amazing story (I hope) but the middle and ending is kind of jumbled up. Male MC ends up hospital then story focuses on female MC for 5 chapters. Hopefully book is marketable.

I am surprised how good I am at writing act 2s. My advice is planning a midpoint that hits as hard as the beginning hook and the end climax. You can do this by using traditionally climatic events like having a Prom or a wedding at the midpoint of your contemporary drama, saving something bigger and better for the climax

What about a "calm before the storm" middle where the characters seemingly achieve their goal but then everything is turned on its head and they find themselves in an even bigger mess?
