Replying to @g I don’t have to explain myself but I will for your sake - Percy is the most neutral dog I’ve ever had. My entire life and personality revolves around this dog, if he had behavioral issues or “reactivity” I’d have a trainer. I’ve worked with dogs for over 10 years, that includes working with trainers and doing my research. I know what my dog NEEDS, I know what he likes and what he doesn’t like and we do A LOT together. Here’s a list of things we do that keep him fulfilled and HAPPY: 1. Trail walks 2. Fetch (his favorite game) 3. Tricks (really gets him thinking, which is great for mental exercise) 4. Exposure theory to new things (swimming - I’m determined to get him to enjoy swimming bc I know he’d love it if he worked through his fear of not being able to touch the bottom of the pool) 5. Strength exercises and conditioning (I’m still learning about canine conditioning but we’ve enjoyed it so far and he’s gained more muscle since we’ve started) 6. Massages (yes, he gets massages. Helps with loosening tension that he can’t loosen on his own) 7. Mental and physical enrichment (on a daily basis) Is that enough for you? Also - to throw your comment in about tools is interesting.
