When my second came along….my new mantra was ‘is this the hill I want to die on?’ if it wasn’t…then I let it go….otherwise…with two boys…I could be battling everything all day lol.

I had my first in my 20’s and the next 2 in my 40’s. A whole different situation and a whole different game.

I totally agree with you my kids are getting older and I'm thinking I'm definitely going to treat the grandkids someday when I have them way different than I Trip Mine but I can also give them back

So funny when you get older. I’m the youngest of 5. So of course the jokes are always- you got away with everything as “the baby” etc 😂 But as you’re older it literally doesn’t matter anymore. It has become the “family lore” & the jokes. (Because in reality I KNOW I got away with more🤭)

I definitely parented my oldest child different to my youngest - so many rules - you are right my confidence grew in my parenting skills and I just relaxed more about the less important things

I think it depends on the child too. What works for one might not work for others.

A mom wears many hats. She had to be the kind of mom you needed at different stages of your life. Same for your brother. He needed a different kind of mom than you needed. So, yes, moms treat their kids differently. Keep in mind, she also had to be a wife, a professional at work and still find time to be the person she needed for herself. ❤️

Thank you for this! My older daughter always says that her sister is spoiled in comparison to her. That hurts me, I love them both equally, there was just a learning curve there. Hard to explain, but that’s the truth. I wish I knew everything having my first born❤️

Being the 2nd born & had easier upbringing I raised my kids equally (in my opinion) they didn’t come back complaining that I was strick with one & not the others. I just kept open communication with no judgement in home & in conversations. My oldest didn’t get a phone until 14 1/2. Youngers got them earlier but it was due to the situations and finances.

I definitely noticed my parenting style change with each kid depending on what that child needed. We have some major rules but for the most part it's kind of on a kid to kid basis.
