refreshing take. i would really like her to address this, especially as a mexican person. i’ve been trying to find other BIPOC to speak with, the ethel cain reddit is an absolute echo chamber of her white fans dismissing potential racism, saying we aren’t valid for being upset if they are real, etc. the boyfriend stuff is icky as well- i’m a bit hurt and let down, i love her dearly and her values and what she stands for are why i became a full fledged fan in the first place. i am going to her tour in august, i truly hope she clarifies. i want to trust her.

As a black fan I am VERY disappointed. But she’s been outspoken about so many human rights issues in the past, that I hope she does the right thing and takes accountability for her actions (sooner rather than later). I believe ppl can grow and change but the longer she waits to acknowledge all this the less I’ll be willing to forgive 😭

As a south raised white Ethel Cain fan I’m so disappointed in her, especially since I’ve been so enthralled with her music for two years now, even though i can’t relate to experiencing racism, it’s disappointing to see that she is unwelcoming of certain people, especially since my family and friends are a part of those ethnic groups.

Guys I’m her cousin and I just want to say my dad is from Mexico and is Hispanic her sister is also dating a girl of color and they have all been around each other Hayden does not have a problem with people of color that I know of today, I’m close to her siblings I’ve always been and I know they are not. so even if this was true it definitely isn’t true now
