We recently did spelling bee and we were blocking the Jesus scene. When Jesus came out for the first time in costume I turned to our panch and I mentioned to say he looked bodiust. Instead I said that he looked pescatarian for some reason 😭.

my most recent show was she kills monsters and there’s a point when “lesbians” is said as an insult so my castmates and i started holding up our hands to look like brackets which just meant (derogatory), it was out subtle way of insulting each other backstage

In that same middle school production of Annie, I played Grace. The guy playing FDR was not a wheelchair user irl, and he really struggled trying to figure out how to get around. One day during the show, he tried to stand up out of the wheelchair during the finale. Warbucks just gently put a hand on his shoulder, guided him back to sitting, and announced loudly to the full audience “sir, you have polio”. I’m not sure I’ve ever broken onstage harder than I did at that specific moment and to this day some of my middle school friends will not let it go.

We cannot mention Cogsworth, beauty and the beast, or even clocks really. around one of my friends without him getting mad. he was cogsworth in our production of beauty and the beast and had a costume mishap where he fell over inside of his big box costume. he couldn’t get up and he was just laying in stage for a minute he had to have back surgery and was out of commission for at least 2 years. he’s okay tho!
