You can also do this for cars, if you drop a weapon but grab it without putting it in your inventory you can use the weapon to shove the car around.

not sure if it still works, but if you want to increase your settlement build limit, get a bunch of scrap weapons, like a whole bunch of pipe weapons, and drop them inside the settlement, then scrap them all individually. it should lower the build limit

You can also with a lot of the physics objects when not in build mode hold action and you can pick them up I think you’re on pc so I don’t know because I was on console but you can throw them too but yeah you can pick them up and throw them into the settlement

If you hold the activate key you can actually “hold” the item and carry it back to your settlement. This is how I got enough rubber to build a massive wall at Starlight Drive-In.

I've pushed cars into my settlement boundaries before holding a shot gun.

You can also drag that annoying truck into hangmans ally and scrap it with a pipe gun
