it happened so fast because this is what Susie(and probably Kris too after their brother leaving) has been craving, she wanted friends but her aggression was a defense mechanism to avoid getting hurt, when she realized Kris wasn't going to hurt her she got attached fast and started doing all the things she'd always wanted to do with a friend
