A few short google searches shows the truth. Despite being the face of Black Sabbath and later his solo band, Ozzy Osbourne contributed very little to the actual songwriting or musical composition. Most of Black Sabbath’s iconic sound was created by Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler, and Bill Ward with Geezer even writing most of Ozzy’s lyrics. In his solo career, guitarists like Randy Rhoads and Zakk Wylde shaped the music, while Ozzy often showed up without much creative input. His fame sometimes came more from outrageous antics than true musicianship. Leaving some to argue that he rode the coattails of far more talented bandmates.
