I’ve been terminating these since the 90s. I’ve never twisted the ends. I straighten them out and cut the at the width of my thumb. But you do you boo-boo.

If you want to do it correctly then punch it down to a keystone and use a patch cord.

I cut to size stick and crimp, Also those pass thru connectors give problems sometimes. That’s y I Don’t use them.

I use pass through connectors all the time and have never had a cable fail. I work in a very wet and corrosive plant
