Wait, don't Lutherans, Catholics and Orthodox also believe this?? Isn't the entire point of infant baptism to introduce faith to infants because they are in danger of hell fire?? If babies are already covered by grace, then why not baptize AFTER a confession of faith like many other denominations??

If God is omniscient and has a plan (Jeremiah 29:11), is it not logical that God knows everything you're ever going to do and it is part of his plan? Thus, the illusion of free will and predetermination.

I used to belong to a church whose preacher believed this. It’s deeply disturbing doctrine….but it’s not as airtight biblically as it is in their dogma. Therefore I no longer believe all that.

Isn’t this an emotional appeal? If we worship another God, at least there is consistency in reformed theology.

Can't remember who said it but I remember reading, something to the effect of "when faced with a choice between Calvinism and atheism, atheism is the obvious choice."
Calvinism is the only protestant theology bad enough for the Orthodox church to formally condemn by name. I think a lot of the things wrong with modern evangelical America can be traced back to its Puritan Calvinist roots. Even many groups that ostensibly reject Calvinism have traces of it woven throughout their faith and practices. It's so baked in it's all but unavoidable.

Augustine too… maybe it’s time we give Origen a second look for systematic theology 👀

There are no infants in hell! Children are innocent. How horrible someone could even think this!!

I visited John Calvin's home church in Switzerland. It was a Catholic Church, seized by them and stripped of its altar, religious items (frescoes, statues, etc), and made plain. It has plaques on the wall commemorating this, calling the Catholic Church and Pope all kinds of horrible things. It was sad. Such desecration.

but your ignoring the fact, that historically infant mortality was very high. infants dying to us seems rare, but to john Calvin it was common. so his explanation as to why so many die, may well stack up in that light. God simply decided in his good grace to not allow it.

Seed of woman is at enmity with seed of the serpent. 🤔 Abel and Cain are born. 2 children. God has regard for one and not the other. 🤔 one kills the other 🤔 who is the good seed and who is the evil seed? 1 John 3:11 Cain is of the evil one. Double predestination. This plays out throughout the entirety of scripture.

I thought I was Calvinist until I understood the theology completely, now I realize that I do not fit that at all and truly believe it is a heresy (if we’re talking about the whole of it). Since then, I realize my beliefs fit more somewhere between Arminianism and Orthodox

i dont expect to be believed, but God gave me a vision on this exact topic - all babies are inherently imbued with the holy spirit until the intellectual development of the ‘self’, and are therefore all saved

This is a major problem with Calvinism. I’ve never been a Calvinist, and the more I study it, the more I listen to its proponents: the more I know there is little Good News in their gospel.

Calvinists discard the moral nature of God in a (poor) attempt to resolve the logical dissonance between free choice, depravity, and God's grace. They do this by essentially eliminating (any significant) free choice altogether despite the clearly implied biblical ability to choose

I am a partial calvinist and I understand this approach but Calvin didn’t teach this interpretation. Paul did in Romans 9:22-24. Should also remeber that Jesus welcomed children into the kingdom in Matthew 19:13-15 so Calvinists should reject infant damnation.

This is a major problem I have with Calvin's theology as well. I was doing a study on anthropology and depravity once to get a better idea of it, and Calvin's answer to the Age of Accountability question seems so unlike the God we know

Being a man who appreciates and enjoys Calvanism. I do realize much of the core concepts are theoretical. It often upholds truths in theory without consideration of the actual application.
