Hey, just a reminder jokes about Chinese people eating cats or dogs aren't harmless or funny. They're based on old, racist stereotypes that were used to paint Chinese people as uncivilized or gross. It’s a way of ‘othering’ a whole culture and has real consequences — especially during things like the COVID-19 pandemic, when Asians were attacked and blamed because of this exact kind of rhetoric. I know some people think it’s just dark humor or whatever, but it plays into a long history of racism. Just something to think about.
