They don't how harmful a false accusation is to a man. A man that has lived life the right way getting sent to prison aver a lie. Yes a false accusation should carry the same sentence to make those liars think twice before they try to ruin a man's life.

What they don’t want to hear is that false accusations also harm real grape victims due to people starting to doubt if they are telling the truth or not because of the liars

And yet if a man is falsely accused, he WILL still have to serve the same amount as if he was guilty , so yes I believe false accusations MUST serve the same sentence as actual SA

I dont think False accusations should come with punishment. at least not for the accuser.
The reason for this is. 1. it makes it difficult to take someone to court because if they get a not guilty verdict you might have to serve time for something that just weren't enough evidence on.
2. if we pretend that its only punishment for people who got sent to jail and then later they came out and said they lied. the chances of them coming out and smdoung whats right is much lower if they know they're gonna get punished for it.
the overall conclusion is that putting punishment on false accusations isnt gonna bring more justice but is gonna make it so people are less likely to come forward and say it was false. or makes it less likely to accuse their grapist due to fear of the not guilty verdict and then then suffering consequences.

Graping someone can ruin their life and so can falsely accusing them, both should come with serious repercussions

False allegations are so rare that they are essentially mythological. A man suffering any consequences from false allegation are even rarer.

so many GUILTY men get away scot free, and i'm not saying false accusations are okay, but an actual SA is much worse than that, especially since, like mentioned, so many actually guilty people get away with hardly a slap on the wrist

🍇 ruins lives. Lying about 🍇 also ruins lives. Their reputation, gone. Job? Gone. Family and friends? Gone. If they get jail time, they're going to be 🍇. There's a high chance they'll be beaten up in public. If they have kids, they'll be taken by CPS. If they're married, they're getting divorced. People don't seem to get that

it's a slippery slope. If it can be proven beyond doubt that it's a false allegation, then it should carry a similar sentence. But when the SA crime conviction rate is as horrendous as it is, it would lead to a lot of victims of SA ending up in prison.

Here's just one example, Shawn Oakman was a sure fire NFL prospect who had his life taken away and had to fight years in court to prove his innocence and guess what he was turned out to be innocent in court. His future, gone and nothing happened to his accuser

no no she got a point. The penalty for false accusation should be at klaster 1,5x higher as a deterrent against using the justice system for personal gain. Thoughts?

I mean they both can ruin someone's life in different ways, so they should carry roughly the same sentence 🤷🏻♂️

the simple way to solve this would be not name the person charged with these sort of offences until adjudged guilty. it's crazy the media are allowed to publish the names of people before a trial.

It's also worth pointing out that every false allegation makes it significantly harder for real victims to be heard.
From a victim standpoint, you don't want people to be able to say "oh but the false allegations" - they're bad for everyone
