i did this and it's definitely not the best way sorry. the best way is throw the chopped whole lemons into a blender and add 30g-40g sugar and 250ml-300ml water per lemon

Only use the rind of organic lemons (or any citrus). They are otherwise coated in fungicides many of which are likely or probably carcinogens/thyroid disruptors.
