100%, it’s all about balance. I try not to let independence dictate trust that could be built by being excessively acknowledging of my “I can do it myself” mentality. It’s a tough but good process I find myself thinking about more often

I have a very similar trauma response and it took me many years of pretty intensive therapy to find a balance. The positive to all that is that it’s helped me compartmentalize my relationships and it’s let me allow good people in by removing expectation. Just let people be people and appreciate them for who they are.
