@itsjurgita: am I the only one that I want to know what I’m going tonpay at one clinic vs. another and read ratings and reviews of the dosctors??? The lack of transparency in swiss healthcare institutions shocks me and how people are not qusetioning it!! #switzerland #swisslife #lifeinswitzerland #schweiz #zurich
Ahaha, so true. I was prescribed 8 sessions of physiotherapy and when I came to praxis and asked the price, they looked at me like I am insane. Two nurses and two administrators were staring at me and at each other without words. And when I was insisting they were saying: I mean it is 8 sessions! I am aware, thank you 😂 how much? Emm, the insurance pay for it. Are you serious, I still will pay it myself but to my insurance, so how much? No no, do you have an insurance? …. I couldn’t anymore, in the end of 15 minutes conversation they gave me range between 500 and 800 😂😂😂

The final cost also depends on how long the doctor examines you, which can vary regardless of the time you booked, sometimes it’s shorter, sometimes longer. As for blood tests, the price depends on which specific parameters you want to check, which is why they indicate a price range. I understand that this can feel frustrating, and perhaps it would be best for you to find a medical practice that offers full cost transparency so that you’re not surprised by any upcoming expenses. So true 😩 back home pregnant women get sooo much attention from doctors (if you pick a good one ofc). Here in 🇨🇭 my gyno still asks me every time if it’s a boy or girl 😂 and just brushes off my complaints like “yeah that’s normal”… like girl I’m about to give birth in 3 weeks and I’m lowkey terrified something’s gonna go wrong 😭 how is that cost so much.. for THIS?

I can see those things for example in the Leistungsabrechnung in my CSS-App but why do I care to check before, the insurance covers it anyways for me.If you need to do something that insurance wont cover the doctor usually tells you ok this additional big blood test (or for example for me it was the NIPT before being 35 years old) costs 500.-.for the results I always get those in an online portal by the GP or the gynacologist, but also the labs like Viollier have their own app where you can make your own account. But yes I have to admit, I am Swiss and it took me ages to "hack" the healthcare system and now I am 100% happy with my doctors setup and insurance policy but it took a lot of research.unfortunately healthcare and the school system are still the same🥲which Krankenkasse and Hausarzt and most importantly Franchise do you have?

My experience is unfortunately negative. A toddler in the middle of pandemic with covid pneumonia was misdiagnosed in LUKS first for asthma and given wrong treatment which made his lungs even worse. Only after my harsh arguments they performed an Xray. Later they did not allow to him get an IV liquids infusion even in severe dehydration. The LUKS hospital said - it is too risky… the insertion of the IV needle in a child can cause infection !!!??? 🫤 so they treated my 2yo son pneumonia with paracetamol🤷♀️In the hospital! In the acute desease risking his life! Hospital treatment was like an expensive hotel - no use at all. No wonder the same hospital is accused recently of a very sick child sent home and died. The parents who are educated ask competent questions but in return the hospitals hire security to get rid of any patients who see their incompetence and demand quality and professional treatment.

It’s just things covered by basic insurance not priced out. But all treatments with supplemental insurance are with clear price on website like massage therapy etc.😅

Also during a job interview sometimes they can’t even tell you the salary and if you ask it’s considered as “impolite”. Like what do you mean, I can’t even know how much money will I earn from doing MY job? Such a big secret 🤣

But living in Switzerland you are obliged to have a health insurance? Just only wonder why you're struggling which each doctor or hospital.

I totally agree, I'm surprised by the low quality of doctors here. They check too superficially, don't go in detail

Health in 🇨🇭 is considered as a top priority. Expensive or not, we have to be treated, whatever the cost. If it's expensive, it bothers us, but we go for it anyway. We trust our healthcare system 😉

Prices are fixed by the government; there is no incentive to overcharge you. There might be some exceptions, but you can generally trust that doctors act in your best interest.

You can get your lab tests done directly at the labs. Like 100% agree with your opinion in absolutely everything you say. The Swiss healthcare system is just a bit sketchy over all. Everyone wants a cut 😉
