this was an unprecedented weather event that no one could have prepared for. central texas gets these flash flood warnings all the time and if the three separate storm cells that combined into a literal Land Hurricane, had stayed their course and never met, this wouldn’t have happened. a storm cell the size of most east coast states hovered over a an area with vast hills and flood-planes for nearly 12 hours. Can’t forget also that this happened on the biggest american holiday of the year other than christmas at 2-5am …

A flash flood warning was issued for parts of Kerr County at 1:14 a.m. CT on Friday. Then, a flash flood emergency warning was issued for Kerr County at 4:03 a.m. CT, followed by one specifically for Kerrville at 5:34 a.m hope this helps for the people trying to blame abbott and trump

This mass casualty was due to negligence and poor policy decisions. The Trump adminstration - gutting the NWS, the TX GOP - voting against funding for emergency warning systems, local officials - voting against installing emergency warning systems and failure to evacuate the flood plain, and the camp itself - putting sleeping children in cabins, 200 ft from a river during a flash flood warning.

We flooded during Harvey in 2017, and I can tell you when that much rain stalls over your area, there is absolutely nothing you can do. No one is to blame when nature unleashes something of that magnitude. It’s heartbreaking, and all you can do is focus on helping one another through it.

I keep seeing “20+ feet fell in 45 mins” so it WoUnDnT HaVe HeLpEd like WHAT!!??Had there even been an alarm sounding at the camp site/town, maybe only 1/2 parishes instead of over 100+. Like come on HOLD YOUR GOVERNMENT LEADERS ACCOUTABLE!
