The worst is “that’s not a real career, you’re not supposed to stay at a job like that forever, you don’t deserve benefits unless you get a real job.” Like okay, you want your Amazon packages delivered in 24-48 hours but you don’t want me to have healthcare or a living wage because it’s “not a real job” even though SOMEONE has to do it, and UPS does almost the same exact thing but they’re respected by the public and it’s seen as a valid career. Makes so much sense 🙃

I have 2 jobs and neither give benefits. I have a masters degree. That was after job searching for almost 2 years to find a “real job” with no luck. Luckily, about to start a new job with benefits. I’m fortunate, but it’s been a struggle.

I've ALWAYS worked without a lapse in employment since I had a paper route at age 11. I had a brain aneurysm and went to ED about a month into switching jobs. My healthcare at the new job doesn't start for 90 days. I was stuck with the bill.

Can we just start a private non-profit health system? Everybody pay $100/month and we all get “pretty good” healthcare whenever we need it.

It's simple math: Healthy people work + Liveable wages keep people in homes, food, and at 1 job. Jobs should be required to provide benefits + liveable wages. Or Healthcare should be universal & the minimum wage should be increased and companies should have to lower their profit margins to compensate, not raise prices causing further inflation & more problems.

I’m a janitor at a hospital, it’s not a fancy job but I think we all agree it’s a job someone has to do, I make 16 dollars and hour and no healthcare. A job is a job, any job should pay a livable wage cause someone has to do any job in order for society to work, they’re all important, they all have a function in society.
