You ever notice how all the older movies really want to depict Superman as a detached christ figure who can't "lower himself" to be like humans? I think it's literally propaganda because comic Superman is extremely nice, in favor of social good and welfare, and accepting of all communities. I'm personally in favor of showing movie watchers the real Superman.
