What she’s saying is. They accidentally rang her up for two pairs of socks. She only wanted one. So her total for ONE pair of socks, and ONE pair of shoes should be $12.49 for the sock because it’s half off. Shoes are 149.99. THEN she had a $15 off coupon. So yes, her total should have only been 147.48. BUT because they rung up an additional sock, and because a coupon is scanned at the end, it distributes the discount across all 3 items. That is where the $2 discrepancy is from. She’s 100% correct in her math and the employee should have refunded the ENTIRE transaction, then rang it up correctly, applying the coupon.
