To all the people asking “why they’re staying after what just happened in Texas”, this is not the same. This happens in a matter of minutes in Ruidoso because of the burn scars. It can literally be sun shining, but raining in the mountains for 30 minutes and the next thing you know there’s a flash flood in town. Sometimes this happens daily during monsoon season since the fires. They aren’t just going to pack up and leave every time. It will flash flood in about 45 minutes and then be gone and back to normal life in another 45 minutes. Most of the people in Ruidoso know much more about flash floods than 99% of the people commenting.
