i hate to say that i miss the “old slushy noobz” or “old fan base” but it’s true. i discovered them when the channel was a few months old and the content was funny and simple. the fan base was also NORMAL. it’s great how they’re evolving but it doesn’t feel as down to earth and laid back anymore. also the fan base is genuinely awful, obsessive, and annoying asf. the pair cannot do ANYTHING without it being a big deal. for example, the whole hamzah and claire thing before they became public (which was extremely planned which i think is strange) …why are we zooming in to analyze someone’s lockscreen?? why are we so absorbed in some random man’s dating life? idk it’s just sad (all of this said by someone with a hamzah pfp…lol)

i’m saying that as someone with a slushynoobz pfp so don’t toast me BUT i honestly don’t like how parasocial the fandom is😭 it’s really weird to see ppl shipping real people or acting like they know them. i’ve been a fan since almost the beginning and it’s been so weird to see how much the fandom has changed. hamzah and martin are really funny but sometimes the fans are NOT.

this definitely makes sense. they actually used to be actively participating in the fan base, if you go back and watch old vids you can see lots of replies and likes. they also used to be active in a slushy discord. but when a fan base grows so fast like theirs, it’s hard to keep up and also, like you said, not needed much anymore. plus the toxicity. these men make literally any move and people freak. whether that’s in a creepy way or a canceling way

nooo hamzah and martin were big on interacting with their fans last year and when you get bigger it's not as easy to do that because you've got projects and stuff. like hamzah used to reply to tons of dms on insta but now doesn't because with attention comes hate and he himself said on patreon they don't do the advice thing in dms because of that
