That’s kind of the point though. They’re told to be preachy and alienating under the guise of saving souls for jesus, but all it does is make them antisocial and want to go back to the community of the church. The point is to further solidify the bond with the community, rather than build the community.

As an ex Catholic i can tell you with some confidence, in their heads, the idea that they got scripture in front of you is the point. They have a very strong idea that the scripture itself is so appealing that its “truth” that it holds is so divine that it will compel you to read it and convert. They’re not even thinking about how its viewed because to them it already worked. They believe they’re doing you a favor, poor things

two things— one, do they actually believe they’re converting people in tik tok comment sections with their copy and paste bs ?? and two, do they really think people haven’t heard of jesus/god/christianity/the word ?? it’s practically impossible to not know what any of it is, you’re not teaching anyone anything new 😭😭 in fact, sharing the bible to those already not interested only disinterests them more because its contents are oppressive and questionable
