OK, let’s do the math if a waitress has five tables in her section each table stays for about one hour each table orders $100 worth of food each table tips 30%. That means that waitress is making $150 an hour. I think that’s a little ridiculous and my wife used to be a waitress.

15% is standard. 20% for great service. 10% or no tip for poor to bad service. No way I’m tipping 30% especially on a $100 meal. Only way I’ll tip 30% is if the meal was less than $20 and the service was decent.

Tipping is so out of control. There is no reason to tip. Restaurants should just include a 15% service charge in the price, so as to pay their servers a fair wage. I, as a client, should not be subsidizing their wages.
