Dragon Ball fans really need to put on their glasses or put down their phones and start reading some books. Toyotaro said, “I love Dragon Ball, and in my opinion, all of it is canon.” Toyotarō saying “I personally consider everything canon” is merely his personal opinion and holds no official weight. The concept of canon in Dragon Ball is not determined by individual statements but by the official entities that own the rights to the franchise Shueisha, Toei Animation, and the Dragon Room. Toyotarō is only the manga illustrator and does not have the authority to decide what is or isn’t canon. Since Akira Toriyama’s passing, the responsibility for defining canon lies entirely with these official institutions. Therefore, the idea that “because Toyotarō said it, it’s canon” is technically and logically invalid. Just because someone says “it’s canon to me” doesn’t mean it becomes universally canon.
