Mr. Motivation :

And let not your eyes pass beyond them, desiring adornments of the worldly life, and do not obey one whose heart We have made heedless of Our remembrance and who follows his desire and whose affair is ever [in] neglect.” (Surah Al-Kahf, 18:28)

I have experienced this myself. I was bought closer to my faith through one person only. May Allah reward and protect that person even if it means sacrificing my own protection from Allah in exchange to keep her safe, Ameen. You never forget those that made such a positive influence to your life, you just mention them in your duas from a distance for their protection and health and never abandon them.
