Alejandro Jodorowsky was very upset when they gave it to David Lynch, and was relieved when he saw it. It's interesting that this film exists at all, I like it for what it is. His original intention (if significantly different to what was filmed and released) or Jodo's would have changed the world, tbh. May not have made much money though, and that is always the priority.

I felt badly for David after hearing how much the studio meddled with his adaptation of Dune. It wasn’t the film he wanted to make and he had to compromise on his vision. Later, he refused to even discuss his frustrations with the studio. In a way I’m glad to know he wasn’t happy with the outcome, because as a fan of Dune and Frank Herbert, I was really disappointed in the 1984 version of Dune.

Life long Dune fan. Read all the books. And iv tried 4 or 5 times to watch the new one. I never make it half way. I hate they used all well known actors. Their acting is terrible

I watched a "redux" version of it, it was perfect. It had deleted scenes in it, and David actually didnt leave anything out of the book.
