Hand over hand actually isn’t recommended by driving instructors nowadays cause incase of crashes the hand over hand position can hurt very bad if the airbags go ofd

Hand over hand is a way to turn but it’s not the correct or safest way to turn. You may need to swatch it up to understand, what you’re referring to would be used for a U-turn most likely. For a regular turn, the safest way is to reposition your other hand that’s not touching the wheel, to the same place your hand was when you let go. I hope that makes since but that is the correct and safest way!
