…they took out 6 of my teeth cause my mouth was too small for them…and now I’m finding out they could have made my mouth bigger and left my healthy teeth alone 😭

So basically this orthodontic expander needs to be done with surgery after the age of 20 right?

I had my braces 15 years ago and my orthodontists were extremely against extracting teeth just due to how it pushes the chin back and changes the shape of the face. It’s amazing to see new data coming out that keeping the teeth also has great health benefits!

That’s absolutely terrifying bro. It’s probably a good invention but that’s awful to think about

My sons expander fully changed the way his face looked. Not in a good way. Years later he grew back into it and it really did give him the room he needed for his teeth to come in, but for awhile I didn’t like it.

It also improved the look of the jawline!! My son is 9 and has snored since he was a toddler. We always thought tonsils etc, a few months with an expander and no more snoring!!

I had braces and a palette expander when I was 13-17. My ortho dentist wanted to break my jaw to correct my bite and my mom said no way. I am 54 and still have an underbite and narrow upper jaw. Can a pallete expander and braces benefit me again as an adult?

I had one of these 33 years ago. I will never forget the pain of two turns twice a day for two weeks. I thought I would die. My daughter’s was less intense at 1 turn every 3 days

A dentist told me I’ll have to get my son to do this soon. He is super sensitive to pain, is this painful for kids?
