I'm ngl the lakes aren't as dangerous as the ocean, it's the fact people think they're regular lakes rather than almost oceans and severely underestimate them.

The Great Lakes in general are scary as hell wors than any ocean as far as I’m concerned. For ex the Edmund Fitzgerald went out nice normal night 2hrs later 30ft waves bigger than anything ever seen before

yep, I spent a year on a sailboat with my family going down through the Caribbean and back; the worst and scariest experience of the whole trip was a squall on lake Superior, felt like we were picked up and thrown by Poseidon.

Always gotta be careful not to get too close to the cliffs, it’s crazy how far out the rocks under the water go and how high they are and you can’t tell 😭
