Remember when all games had LAN parties? You could play multi-player even without internet in 1990-2000 games. Do you really think modern-day devs can't simply do that?

Easy work, on server shutdown, publish server code on GitHub. Scared of vulnerabilities being discovered ? Open source will fix it up. Scared of reused failing server code ? Seems like a YOU issue. Scared of private server making economy of your game fail ? You’re shutting it down it’s already failed.

Absolut non of the SKG games fans realise that most consumer protection laws don't apply retroactively, non of ya are getting the crew back, and I absolutely agree with the concerns towards important things like the source code of the game or the privacy part, best example is club penguin with doxing and grooming and other games who had their source code leaked who are flooded with very malicious hackers, yes players should have access to single players or coop games like GoG already does, but multilayer games are a little more complex.
