Please please rescue. Do not use a breeder. The shelter crisis is out of control in the US. Thousands of dogs are euthanized each day for absolutely no reason except due to over crowding. It is absolutely possible to find your perfect dog in a shelter. They all deserve a chance.

If you get a dachshund make sure you’re prepared for there health issues and back problems ! If not I’d recommend going to the shelter and seeing different breeds !

Our pup is not what I would consider small but he is a standard poodle (55 pounds but mostly legs) - We cut him like a doodle rather than a poodle cut but he is the BEST dog! Doesn’t shed, loves kids, protective, cuddly, calm, personable, social. Highly recommend.

Yes daschunds are a good choice! They can be divas but are good dogs! I love mine she's the best!

Okay so when my daughter was 2 we got her a labradoodle! Trust me they might be big or medium sized but we got him when he was 4 months and he was so sweet to my daughter and snow she’s 4 and he still is the sweetest and we decided to get another labradoodle it’s been so fun! ❤️

Do not get a dachshund!!😂 my parents have one and if you’re okay with them being the absolute most stubborn and really don’t listen/ must be trained on a regular basis. They are sooooo needy and my parents have 3 other dogs and have said they are easily the hardest dog they have ever had

I have had dachshunds my whole life and currently have 2. As long as you get stairs for them for the couch and bed they are fine! I haven’t dealt with major health issues

Frenchie would match you sooooo well! Yes they are prone to health issues, but finding a reputable breeder helps with that. My Frenchie is 3.5 and has never had any issues
