Ugh we had this happen when we were very new to the medical parenting scene. They made us be admitted over a holiday weekend. Threatened cps, I finally said call them I've got nothing to hide. They let us be discharged a few hours later. He was also there for low weight. I missed the holiday and they literally didn't do anything but observe him. I know so much more now. Kinda wish I could go back. I also would not call their bluff on cps anymore. They did end up calling them a few months later for the same thing. Thankfully another Dr came to bat for us and the case was completely thrown out. Another family wasn't so lucky. Even despite their daughter having a genetic disorder they took her from the home . It was a long battle and that mom sued the hospital and won in the end but not without trauma.

I carry a printed out packet of Idaho law and parental rights because I am so afraid this will happen. I live in rural Idaho and the doctors don’t know anything about my sons rare genetic disability.

I remember this because we were also in the hospital and our team wasn’t listening to me that my child was in pain ughh some doctors don’t need to be peds doctors period

Does your child have good insurance? Bc something tells me this was more about what they could bill than “how they could help.” Drs often commit insurance fraud under the guise of care depending on how well youre insured. In my experience.

as a para, I don't understand how the amazing sped parents who advocate for their kids and give them the world are the ones getting targeted, but when I report for actual abuse nothing happens. The systems is so broken.

They did call social work on me because (surprise) heart failure makes babies not want to eat. I now have a great letter from our case worker that states I'm a good mom who has provided a safe home environment and advocates appropriately for her children's care.

the nissanfundiplocation can cause dumping syndrome but they thought the mom was salt poisoning her child, she was only cleared when an incident happened when the mother had stepped out of the PICU to get coffee and her daughter had an episode in mom's absence
