as a Father with 50/50 custody who deals with this constantly from the other parent. not with being late to pick up from day care, but just demanding me to bring her home because she can't find a ride. mind you I did it a couple of times, but now I just tell her nope if I can make my work schedule work with pickups so can you. I tell her you either pick up our daughter on your pickup time and day or I keep her until you can get here. 🤷🏻♂️

I would ask for documentation at the daycare. And make him pay each and every overdraft fee. But I wouldn’t let my child get picked up by CPS bc that looks bad on mom, unless there’s some reason I really can’t get there. But I’d ask the school to back me up during the trial or whatever happens with custody things to help get full custody and dad can just have every other weekend and pay child support.

I read this one and they tore OP up in the comments calling her a bad mom. Like it's her fault he can't be responsible for their son when he is in his care. People make no sense to me sometimes 😑

I love that she’s doing it the way that she’s doing it because it shows that she’s putting in her 50% as far as rearranging her schedule for the days she has her toddler and accommodations for pick up but ex-husband hasn’t given 50% effort to even show that he wants 50-50 custody

I feel like the school records are enough for the custody case but healthy coparenting is important in any relationship 50-50 or not and CPS and the authorities will put you all under inspection not just him and it’s a headache

If it’s been a few months I understand it as between 3-5 months. That means if it’s happened about 8 times that’s most of “his time” NTA.

He was doing that to make it seem as though she was the one picking him up late to make her l look bad. And have a record of HER negligences when in fact it was his time. They are not legally bound to custody
