ADJEI ABLORH :
An Open Letter to the Ga Chiefs and Traditional Council
To the Esteemed Ga Traditional Council, Chiefs, and Family Heads,
We, the youth and rightful indigenes of Ga land, write this open letter out of deep concern and disappointment regarding the persistent abuse of power by those entrusted to serve as custodians of our ancestral lands.
It is disheartening to witness how many family heads and chiefs, who are supposed to hold stool and family lands in trust for future generations, have continuously sold off these lands for purposes that never materialize, often to the detriment of the very people they represent. These actions have not only compromised our collective heritage but have also mortgaged the future of the Ga people.
Let it be known that from this moment forward, we will no longer stand by in silence. The youth and people of Ga land will begin to take bold and necessary steps to protect what is rightfully ours. Representing a family or a stool does not give you the authority to trade away our legacy for personal gain or for empty promises that serve no meaningful purpose.
Henceforth, any chief, family head, or traditional leader who fails to live up to their responsibility will no longer be recognized by us as a legitimate representative of our people. Your position is not one of entitlement, but of service and accountability. We are done tolerating negligence, dishonesty, and self serving leadership.
This is a clear warning to all members of the Ga Traditional Council: if you continue to fail in your duties, if you continue to betray the trust of your people, you will lose the moral and social legitimacy to lead. The era of unchecked entitlement is over.
We also acknowledge that part of the problem lies with our own complacency. We have failed, as a people, to hold some of you accountable. But that ends today. A new era of vigilance, accountability, and youth empowerment has begun. The future of Ga land will be decided by those who truly have its best interest at heart.
With urgency and resolve,
The Concerned Youth and Indigenes of Ga Land
