I first seen them being worn by chicanos and not just in LA , in the 70’s. Cascade also made pendlton type shirts at a more affordable price. If you had feria, you had pendleton and stacy adams. You see it in Los cause cholo is still in style. Chuco is the style, cholo is a gang member

There are some fashion cultures that you don't know the history meaning to, you shouldn't be wearing it if you don't. Unfortunately, there was a lot of bloodshed cuz of this type of clothing. Wear with respect and understanding.

I live South Africa and I remember saving up to purchase my first Charlie Brown in my senior year of high school. I recall seeing it in movies such as 187, Mi Vida Loca, Straight Outta Compton, Blood In Blood out, Peppermint and even in the videogame GTA San Andreas, as T-Bone Mendez can be seen wearing one. I also noticed a couple of pictures of Eazy E wearing different colours of the shirt, along with Sen Dog from Cypress Hill and Kid Frost. My reason for purchasing the shirt, stems from my admiration for urban Chicano fashion. Even though it may be associated with gangsterism, which I am not a part of or condone for that manner, it came across as classy, while still maintaining an urban aesthetic to it.
