You called it, they love the idea of having the socially constructed success, but don't actually love the ppl they surround themselves with. It's the ownership, they get to call the family theirs, definitely a power/ego thing. No thought for anyone's happiness or mental capacity...kids are a fckn JOB. Being a parent requires dedication, sacrifice, support & love. Most selfish ppl are reproducing. So many kids suffer bc of this.

I don’t disagree to the check boxes comment. I feel the stress in relationships is MONEY. Together you make it, have to share it. Then a child comes and it takes your time and your money…and attention. People getting together later are more selfish with their cash, time, still want attention.

This *really* needs to go viral. A lot of men want kids as trophies of manhood or expect to have a mini-me they can live vicariously through. A man should have kids only if he’s an extremely giving person who would be HAPPY devoting himself to the very hard work of being a great father. (Plenty of women need this message, too, but this vid is about men.)

the onus of parenthood rarely falls onto men. that's why you don't hear men speaking out about being childfree. whether or not they have children doesn't really impact their lives at the end of the day. having a child is not going to change a man's life by much if he doesn't want it to.
