@screenwritinginla: Absolutely love what Spielberg says here. The most important thing for any aspiring filmmaker, or really any creative, is to make finding your unique voice your absolute priority. That’s what will set you apart and make your work stand out. It’s common sense, but so many people clearly don’t put it at the top of the list. I think that’s why there are so many cookie-cutter movies these days. It’s not about mimicking others or chasing trends; it’s about digging deep and discovering what YOU have to say that no one else can. But I also love how he gives permission to make derivative films (any art) at the start. It’s part of the process, part of figuring out what your voice is. It’s like training wheels for your creativity. Spielberg just gets it. The goat.# And sorry about the crappy quality. Cleaned it up as best I could. Cinema Paradiso. Simple as that. The passions of the writer and director are on every frame of this masterpiece.

Anything by David Lynch rip ❤, he shows that being weird is a purely natural part of life and society.

“Troy”…not because it was good but when I watched I said to myself:”I watch tons of movies, why I cannot make them”…and that’s what I do, by doing VFX for now.

No joke or coincidence, but Superman ‘78 was the moment of realization for me. I knew then the magic of film and after that it was let’s learn film, and I stand before you having written a full length feature script I wrote last summer, still re-writing today. I owe it all to Mr. Donner, Mr. Siegel and Mr. Shuster.

A Clockwork Orange. Saw it at 12 years old. I now appreciate it for the craft but not as much of a fan from an enjoyable perspective. By far not my fav Kubrick. But its the first time in like that i realized that filmmakers are “artists”

The Sting. Hands down my favorite film. I’ve probably watched it over 500 times. The other is Raiders of the Lost Ark. it’s Spielberg. Both made me want to be a part of cinema. Any film that makes me feel something, painful or not, is what I respond to. Ordinary People cut to my core.
