With the Aloe Vera you have to make sure you scrape some of the green stuff from the inside of the outer leaf. That's where the laxative is. I take a piece of the leaf without the thorns and put it in the blender and drink that.

Mammah gave us Castor oil in the early 50s, every fall. Ohh I remember taking it and we couldn't spit it out, you had another tsp spoon waiting

Yep , I remember when I was a child I got the mad itch or infatigo probably spelled it wrong but anyhoo that was awful! She tied my hands up with tape and gauze so I wouldn’t scratch while sleeping . She took flour, cornstarch and water and made a paste and rubbed it all over me

My grandma used to make us drink the aloe we called it the alligator tail as kids hated when we saw that coming 😭😂

I absolutely love these!! It’s ashamed that our society has become to “educated” to believe in the remedies of our ancestors. God gave us natural medicine. Yes, there is a place for man made medicine, but for the most part nature has the best medicine….without all the side effects.

Oh, that castor oil was awful. I thought it was a form of punishment. A grandmother would give that to us before the winter help prevent us from catching colds.
