@rescue.buddies: 🚨 JUST RESCUED: EMACIATED GREAT DANE ON FREEWAY EATING TRASH🚨 This morning started with a frantic call from one of our fosters—there was an emaciated Great Dane on the side of the freeway, eating trash and dangerously close to traffic. We jumped into action and rushed to save her, determined not to let this sweet girl get hit by a car. And then, the chase began—Evie ran nearly 3 miles along the service drive after we got her off the expressway. It’s a miracle she managed to avoid getting hit with cars zooming by, and even some frustrated drivers who didn’t realize we were trying to save her life. Thankfully, a few kind truckers stopped to help us while we worked to secure her. 🙏❤️ Evie is completely emaciated, and was terrified, but once she realized we were there to help was and is incredibly sweet despite everything she’s been through. She had no collar, tag, or microchip, and is in desperate need of a safe place to decompress and recover. We’re at capacity at our shelter, and Evie needs an immediate foster home where she can start her healing journey.
