Jess, for a young woman you blow me away with your insight, emotional intelligence and empathy regarding this devastating condition. You would be such a welcome addition to any dementia training team. I had training at The Iris Murdoch Dementia Centre in Stirling, Scotland, and you would fit right into their team. I love watching you with your nan, you will be helping so many people - wonderful

My granny never forgot me though her dementia was so advanced in the end. that is a blessing I will never forget. my grandma, also with advanced dementia, never remembered my name in the last 5 or so years... always looked at me like she knew she was safe and loved me.... that was enough for me. you're such a beautiful soul

I thought the worst day of my life would be when my grandmother who raised me didn’t recognize me. It never happened. But I would’ve traded it for her to have peace sooner.

My son was upset as his gran didn’t know him during her dementia journey. He was very young. I told him I do believe she did know him in his heart, more importantly he knew who she was and he will always have those memories.

She loves you so much though Jess. Deep down she knows and remembers you love! Even if she can’t express it anymore. My great grandmother went through the same thing and bless my grandmothers heart she also had to build a new connection with her. I love how strong you are Jess!! ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️

my nan in her final weeks thought I was my other female cousin or other female relatives but never me at first I would correct her then I realised it wasn't about me it was her comfort and I just rolled with it. I still wonder if she was upset that I never visited her when I did. It's so hard you do a great job

I lost my nan when I was 14. I could never imagine how it feels for you to still have her but not remember who you are. Just make the most of every second you get to spend with her however that may be 🥰 You both have a beautiful connection
