@teewood93: Homeowners would rather convince you to be house poor than to admit that you actually know better about your own financial situation than they do. ##rentvsbuy##rentvsown##renting

I have about 4 $1K+ projects that need to be done and 🤣. Ain't got it. So many benefits to renting.

In the last two years, I’ve had to replace a roof, a hot water heater, and two climate control units. These combined cost more than $50k.

Home buying is called an investment for a reason. Must be ready to invest time, money, energy to maintaining it so that it can actually gain value and not lose. Only you will know when you are ready for that. There is no timeline ☺️but there is peace of mind!!

I tell people who are looking to be home owners, that you need to have enough money for the down payment, extra money to furnish your home, and emergency repairs. If you don't not have that, renting is your best option and that's okay! Thankfully I've lived in my home for 4 years now and only had to fix the septic tank because it was installed improperly. I bought a new build, so it hasn't been having to repair anything (yet).

I got in during Covid. 3% down payment at 3.25% interest. I couldn’t afford to buy my house today. 😭 It’s NOT an easy process.

It's not what it's cracked up to be...as an ex loan processor of 20 years I've never owned and probably never will... Just stock pile your money in a 401k

Renting would always be better if all landlords were honest and willing. But that’s not the reality. It’s disappointing.

This. ❤️This is what’s best for my family currently. “Save money” it would take me 10 years to save that kind of money sweat.

As someone who is currently building a new house and currently renting!!! If I didn’t have kids I would stay renting, my mortgage is gonna be $1300 more than my rent for the same sized house😩😩😩

There are other ways of building assets and wealth aside from buying a house 🙄 ones that don’t require you to go into the crawl space at 3 am because the freeze burst a pipe

I am a homeowner and I know that shit is dumb as fuck. If I sell this house, I'm convinced I'll never own another one. Who can afford it. I only can cause I bought a long time ago.

I bought at a time just before prices jumped and interest jumped. I couldn't afford to buy my own house with just a down payment and no equity. not to mention the 10s of thousands of dollars I've put into it in the last 5 years. mean while I only need a 1 br 1 bath apt. which I paid 1100 for before buying. 5 years later the rent is only 1400$ for the same apartment. everyones circumstances are so different. idk if I'd buy again. personally I miss the flexibility.
