for me, why does it feels like Mitsuri was a sacrifice. it's not unusual for Author/artist to grab people attention/give a chance to their creation is by making a sacrifice for one of their character or a special scene that is fan service. (we can tell the Author originally wasn't planning to give this final design to Mitsuri from their previous beta design of her)
