1 YEAR OF CALLIE 🎉🎉🎉🎉 1 year ago today, I saw a post of a dog who was in need of urgent help who was set to be euthanized. A dog I didn’t get any information about, questions ignored… I didn’t know how she was with dogs or cats, when her last check up was, or how old she actually was… just puppy pictures. I took a risk, because I saw a dog who had so much potential that no one else saw… I took in a dog that was supposed to be a foster, but within a week my fiance told me no to doing paper work to foster her. That she had already found her home with us, and that she looked at me the same way Maggie & Eddie did... that bond was there the moment we picked her up. She crawled up to the front seat and sat in my lap the whole ride home with her head in my shoulders… Callie had behavioral issues, issues I have never really dealt with before or knew where to start… But I learned because I loved her. A year ago, Callie was fearful of men… she was a bite risk. She didn’t like Matthew for nearly two weeks Her paws were badly infected that she had to be on antibiotics & steroids for a good bit. She had to be on anxiety meds & trazadone. Callie was dog & cat aggressive. Callie was fearful & reactive of people. Especially when they came into her home. Callie had only trusted me.. I was/am her person… Callie was stressed being in new places, she was scared. Callie wouldn’t play with any toys or anything… With time, training, and patience Callie can be around most dogs, she LOVES cats, and she’s not fear anymore towards people and is not reactive anymore. In just 1 year, she has improved so much you wouldn’t even recognize her. I did this. She helped me learn so much and has helped me improve as a handler.
