The jump from village to town has more to do with trade, self sufficiency, tax collecting, local arbiters, roads, and religious services. There's like a real list, strangely enough.

The noblility hierarcy triggers me so hard man😭. [respectfully] Titles that don't belong into a vassal-liege relation (grand prince, prince), title let out like Burgrave (Fortress Baron), Marquess/Marquise is an overused title i'd rather use Margrave in an Fntasy setting, viscount means Vice-Count more of an honorary title so use that or leave it. Lord and knight aren't high enough to be ranked against each other. Archduke ranks above Grand Duke although both being just a fancy titles. Grandduke controls a big Duchy, while Archduke is a way to dodge being called a King under a king or emperor.

The difference between a king and a emperor if anyone doesn't know is a emperor is a person that had took over other kingdoms or other lands and also rule a kingdom while a king is a person that just rules the kingdom (please correct me if i'm wrong💔)
