people say that Azuma fell in love with Shizuka and therefore agreed to hide Marina but that's not right. Azuma has perfection issues, his brother is able to get what he wants without working hard yet Azuma is not able to do that, even with working hard. Shizuka wanted his help because she had no one else, Azuma then felt that since she needs him it's something only he can do, so he's determined for her not to loose faith in him. that is all. though I wouldn't be shocked if he did fall for her, it would be pretty toxic based off of the situation.

shizuka did not manipulated naoki! be real, a 4th grader knowing what manipulation is? when all she experienced is being bullied all the time? and naoki was just swayed because that was all he wanted, for someone to see him, his worth, his existence and for someone to depend on him even just a little bit which shizuka showed to him and fyi shizuka was not acting when she depended on naoki that means she didn't manipulated him, she just trusted and depended on him. she's just a child who doesn't even know the difference of mrder and magic. but the real villain in this story is the parents not marina, not shizuka. it's the parents... this story is actually deep.. it shows different toxic households or families affect their children's behaviour. so rather than saying shizuka is a manipulator why don't u look at the fact how she grew up with no one to depend on

I see everyone saying that she's manipulating everyone. but am I the only one who doesn't see it that way? yes she's using them but I don't think it's intentional. At the end of the day she's a neglected and bullied little kid who doesn't actually have anyone else who she can rely on. The fact that the person she asked for help is someone who ends up having a crush on her is not.. great. BUT again she has NO ONE ELSE TO ASK + I don't really think she know about his feelings. on top of that I believe a big part of Naoki's feelings are him needing the feeling of being needed. He's a perfectionist and desperate for affirmation. Cause despite how hard he tries can't get the love or praise from his mum, always being put last because of his brother. He like the idea that HES the one that Shizuka asked.
