If you go into the game, completely disregarding all of the fandom antics, he’s actually such a disturbing and sad character. We don’t know a whole lot about Spamton when he was “normal” if he ever was, but what can be surmised is that he had everything taken away at the drop of a hat. Can you imagine that desperation? Spamton is basically outright said to be an Addison, can you imagine his siblings ever seeing him in this state? Deranged and spouting what sounds like complete nonsense? I feel so bad for him. Even if the things that happened to him were of his own doing, I’ll never not feel bad for him.

Hes a terrifying character. Kris was obviously despaired by him due to him because their both puppets, but Susie even mentioned that ‘freedom’ and ‘strings’ was weird to her too. He’s a horrific virus that genuinely scares me too

Additionally, he is the concept of spam email! He might seem silly to some, but has the potential to genuinely ruins people’s lives if they believe him. He’s honestly sort of pathetic, but you maybe feel a little bad for him. Because you KNOW that some people will respond to his desperation in vile ways. He’s hard to completely get away from, no matter how much you want to.

I get why he's not usually portrayed accurately cus he's a really difficult character to write. It's hard to strike the balance between him being unsettling and malicious, cartoonish, and genuinely tragic. Lean too hard in any direction and the magic is lost.

Spamton is unsettling to everyone around him. Spamton scammed Tenna and people believed Spamtons side for 4 years 💀. Spamton literally says he only gave you the thornring because he wanted you to use it for evil (And thats after making you backtrack to kill everyonse you missed). He definitely is mysoginistic... I think people gloss over the fact that Snowgrave Spamton was genuinely going to call Noelle a b* and a wh* in his fight but the [hyperlinks] replaced them. He literally knows we're the light inside Kris's soul 😭 Bro was this close to sliming Kris to have that light for himself.

i like how he’s so desperately clinging to that salesman persona but then it just slips out every so often, especially when he goes on those rants, i do love his character and hate how he’s been boiled down and it’s never spoken about how they’re scared of spamton. spamton IS scary, he IS an unsettling character, NEO was about to literally rip Kris’ souls out for his own freedom had it not been for Susie, if it wasn’t for the player Kris likely would’ve avoided him at all costs. Spamton does have an inherent creepiness to him especially from Kris’ perspective and i love when that’s explored more

another read i take of him is hes a lot like commercialists from the early 2000s for things people wouldnt care about (insurance, gambling, products, etc) but its just. him. you cant interact with him past the commercial act, he's trying to break his own script. humans with that job have that as a skill and can stop, for him however, its life.

one of the most fascinating things about spamton is how in his insanity he’s gone into religious psychosis. he practically worships his neo body and how it will help him reach heaven. people rarely talk about his connection to religion but i think it’s so intriguing and unsettling. i wonder how he resorted to that kind of thinking
