This Glass made me spend a night outside, after breaking like 5 times. The one that surprised me was the new one my mum just got and asked me to go and watch it, and called me by a name madam breaker, of a truth the name followed me and I did the wonders

This lantern comes with different reason for my to beat me that year. 1) if I forget to put kerosine bfr turning it on 2) if I didn’t check the rope bfr turning it on 3) if I didn’t clean the glass bfr turning it on 4) and even if I did all of that and I increase the fire more than the way it shld be 😂😂😂.. it made me hate nights😂😂, thank God for rechargeable lamp oo

Back then in Nigeria, kerosene lanterns lit our nights but the glass chimney was sacred. Parents cherished it like an egg; breaking it could earn you the beating of your life! Some kids learned to fear that fragile glass more than the dark. Brands like Nier Feuerhand and Dietz were household legends. A polished lantern meant pride; a broken glass meant war. You'd hear, “Don’t touch that lantern!” more than “Good morning.” Ahhhhhhh, the days when light came with discipline! 🪔🔥
