I was there. I sneaked in inside the building at night. Everything was you know it’s been cleared out but your signs of you know what used to be there. We did get arrested though.

I remember filenes basement being there and I can’t believe nothing ever moved in to replace it. In high school 2002-2006 this mall was EVERYTHING and the storefronts were full!

my mom used to take me there as a kid all the time & there was this one time (probably 2006-2007ish) we got lost trying to exit the mall. i think she may have taken us through a set of doors that was just a really long hallway with many different turns it was definitely frightening as a kid. As good as this mall was then it always had a weird vibe

All these Independence Mall videos are making me nostalgic and sad at the same time. The amount of time I spent there when I was younger. I LOVED the little chandelier things in the big center area (near where Best Buy was)
