this conflict is exactly what caused our old host's dormancy btw. he clung unto to the people that hurt us, and now the way we operate is to be openly cruel to others to assert boundaries and excel at competition. course, you still have the more sympathetic alters, but the more splits we have, the more "evil" and less human the alters we form just so there's survival. (I just realize that kinda sounds like Split's plot but 🤣)
