its normally just faster to rip them off but most salons are not gentle what so ever, I've taken my own off at home this way without the pain they leave you in. but soaking is all around better. it would even help if they soaked them a little after making an opening and then doing this would hurt way less but it can still damage your nails no matter what by ripping them off.

no… they are supposed to soak it off. but alot of chop shops use mma monomer (bc its cheap) which makes the acrylic super gooey and hard to get off when soaked in acetone.. so instead they just rip it off unfortunately…

omg no wayyy! that’s so bad for your nails! I got my nails taken off like that and got charged $15.. this absolutely WRECKS your nails and it’s soooo bad for you! You would be better off soaking them and drilling them off yourself

Hell no but this is why I go to my fire nail tech out of her room in her house. Every chop shop I’ve been to does this!

They are absolutely not supposed to do this, if they are licensed in your state (which they have to be to work in a salon) they are taught to never ever do this

It’s an easy method some people do If not a soak off it’s called an Pop off method and they use a nail tip to get under the nail and basically pop it off. It is unpleasant so be sure to ask for soak offs but they do it due to time-saving circumstances.

The first time I ever got acrylics last year, I went to a different nail salon to get them taken off. This man did exactly what she’s doing to u and RIPPED off half my nail as well as cut my cuticles till they bled.

They do this when they use MMA cause it’s takes hours to do a soak off 🫣 do not let anyone do this to your nails request a soak off and if they refuse leave. This is a major red flag at a nail salon

This just happened to me today, totally ripped off my natural nail. Hurt. She also had the audacity to tell me it’s my fault for coming in an hour before closing. Like just tell me to come back tomorrow. It’s simple.
